Review : Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live [Spoiler Alert!]
So basically I'm making this review for my friend but sure, go on reading if you want to.
But beware, you're in for one whole ride of spoilers.
So lately I've been into this one anime series called Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live. I've been wanting to watch at least one of the Pretty Rhythm series for a real while now, but the amount of episodes it has stopped me every single time. Like god, I don't want to watch a 50-episode this is so going to waste my time~ kind of reaction.
I started wanting to watch it properly after seeing the promotional poster of KING OF PRISM which is a spin-off of the Rainbow Live series.

I mean, I am a seiyuu maniac for all we know and the fact that I watch a lot of series with ikemens in it, it concludes everything.
DUDE I AM DEFINITELY WATCHING THIS.
And although I had such a hype for the movie, it it not released yet in the place I live in so I had to wait and make do with the original series first.
Now, let's go to the original series first. I am currently at episode 40+ but by the time I finish this post, I would probably be over with the show so yes.
Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live! >w<)/ |
So, Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live.
It's obviously going to be really girly and pink. We all knew it.
And heck I was not even expecting much from it. I was supposed to watch this series for the adorable music and probably cliched storyline with colour-coordinated cliched dere character personalities and what do I get?
A FREAKING TRAIN OF FEELS ARE YOU KIDDING ME
And even with all the flaws this anime has, I have to admit - it's still FREAKING GOOD.
Anyways before anything I guess I'll introduce the characters first before I move on with anything.
Later in the story, they form a unit under the name 'Happy Rain' |
First we have the pink-haired HAPPY NARU~! <3 Ayase Naru, who is always energetic and positive. She is introduced as a short character but she never let it get to her.
Next the brave Fukuhara Ann who dreams of becoming a patisserie but is strongly opposed by her father who wants her to continue on the family senbei store.
And of course the cool and wild black-haired Suzuno Ito, who gets irritated when people call her by her name and goes by the nickname 'Cross' instead.
And as in every idol-themed anime ever, we obviously need the rival team, the girls from Edel Rose, an elite school specialized for Prism Shows, where winning is everything.
from left to right: Otoha, Bell and Wakana Likewise, they later formed a unit under the name 'Bell Rose' |
Then, the green-haired cat character, Morizono Wakana - frustratingly annoying and probably the character you will dislike the most at first.
Last but not least, the shy and stuttering blond-haired Takanashi Otoha who is devoted to Bell, after a scene where she helped her out when she was in need.
from left to right : Nishina Kazuki, Mihama Kouji and Hayami Hiro |
Boys in the midst of a entire bunch of Prism Girls.'
I mean god, I can't emphasize the importance of this even more. The existence of the opposite gender allows a lot more room for story outcome and character growth. And I tell you, this anime makes use of every single material they have it's just plain amazing.
So we have the absolute idol, Hayami Hiro who is taught that love is no good to him in his path to become an idol. Innocent-looking and immensely popular, his dark sides shines through more than a few times in the series.
The calm and collected Mihama Kouji is my type//shot// //cough// Mihama Kouji is a genius composer whose talent are not recognized by anyone. He is a student of Edel Rose, and so is Hayami Hiro.
Nishina Kazuki is your freedom-loving street dancer, who does Prism Shows entirely for the fun of doing it. Also known as Kazuki-senpai, he is very easy to get along with and has a really close relationship with a lot people which tends to lead to misunderstandings.
So there you go, the entire main cast. I skipped out a few characters though. //dushed
Anyways, from now I am going to point out a few things I really like from this series so it's going to be extremely jumbled up so bear with me here.
(to be continued..!)
