Enchanted

"The river of dreams had always been, my reason to breathe."
A short poem I wrote on the 5th of March 2019.

Enchanted

I made my way back home
Walking beside the river of dreams
I find myself dazzled
With how enchanting it looks
The beauty of persistence
And the charm of sacrifice
Adorned with support
And all the smiles

It’s mixed up with pain
And a whole load of tears
But it keeps on flowing
With pride and honour

Where does it lead to?
I used to wonder
But now I realize
It wasn’t something to ponder
The river of dreams has no end
Nor a destination
It’s just simply there
To provide a direction

I want to drown in it
The river of dreams
And never be saved
By ruthless reality
Yet I walked my way back home
With a bag of responsibilities
Holding back my desires
Instead of letting it free

I have always been enchanted
And I will always be
The river of dreams had always been
My reason to breathe
